Jay Bonstingi created the ASCD Block & Alternative
Scheduling Network, in conjunction with our Center for Schools of Quality, as a service to school principals, superintendents and school boards who are considering the benefits of block scheduling to promote higher motivation and performance for each and every student.
Network membership is free for school administrators and teachers. Simply send us an email requesting membership for you and your school or district. Include your name and position, the name and mailing address of your school or school system, and your office phone and fax numbers.
Membership includes a free consultation to help you and your team to determine your best school schedule and the best way to prepare your staff for the transition. Our research shows that a two- or three-year transition is optimal, especially to give teachers a set of new classroom strategies and tools that are specifically geared toward greater teacher-student interaction in the block-scheduled school.
Members also receive a special invitation to the Block & Alternative Scheduling Network session at the annual ASCD convention, where block scheduling experts share their research on "'what works best" in the block.
Contact us today for more information about the Network, or to schedule a free consultation.
